Hey guys,

i saw lots of serverposts here from people, who have a totally wrong understandig of making a server.
They posted local server ip addresses (eg: 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.154) and people always said they could not connect.
So i'll try to explain you, what you need to create your own server at home.
I bet most people won't meet the requirements, so please don't post your server here if it is so.

(r) = required / (o) = optional
What you need:

1.) (o) a machine (computer) which runs 24/7 (otherwise, please post your ontimes here in GMT time)

2.) (r) setup a minecraft server with galacticraft installed (post all mods you installed beside galacticraft)

3.) (r) setup a static lan ip address for your "machine" eg: 192.168.1.146

4.) (r) login to your router and forward port 25565 to your machine, where the server runs

5.) (r) get your public ip adress on http://myip.is
5.1) check if you have a static ip or a dynamic. To do so, check 3 day every day your ip on http://myip.is it shows always the same ip, your ip is static else you have a dynamic ip.

6.) [(r) if dynamic ip / (o) if static ip] Get a hostname, you can get one for free on dyndns.org Then setup your router, to sumbit your ip daily to dyndns to make the hostname work. A hostname is for example "youtube.de"

7.) if you meet all requirements, then feel free to post a new thread with your server ip adress or hostname. Be sure to follow all rules which you can read here: http://forum.micdoodle8.com/index.php?threads/server-post-guidelines.1072/

I hope i could help to either create a minecraft server or keep this forum clean.

Where do you get a 24 "machine" or how? o_O:eek::oops::confused:
To get a smooth running server I recommend a dual core pc with at least 16gb of ram. Another option is getting an actual server (Similar to a pc), but they are pretty expensive and you have to install all of the hardware yourself, plus know how to code in either linux or buy and install the server edition of windows.
