I've been in the computer industry since 1982. I used to design BIG computers back then (the kind that ran factories). Then I got into the "pc" world when I was given a project to design some ram and tests for a "new" computer that was called the "AT". That's when I got into writing code and really fell in love with it. So I dropped everything went back to school to learn how to code, and moved to Washington state. There I was a software design engineer in test, and wrote code to certify hardware. I did some work on compilers which was fun but just about lost my mind over it ;-) and moved into management. worked at that for about 10 years, got a really bad case of cts and became disabled and was forced to retire.
