Maybe Copper ore should be green, (malachite, or copper carbonate) and smelting yields copper ingots. or Copper ore should drop Malachite Chunks and can be smelted into copper ingots.
I agree with this, the ore in real life is a greenish copper oxide. But ores on the moon and mars should be the same bronze colour, as there is no oxygen for the copper to react with
