I've just removed all other mods, including two for 1.8 i forgot i had and it made no difference. However, i can confirm i can craft wooden buttons and gates.

I am using Gravestone-2.11.3 but i removed all my other mods. At the moment the only 2 items i have found that i can't craft are stone buttons and fence posts.
