The air bubble from oxygen distributors should become bigger the more oxygen collecters there are connected to it.

How about uses a same tactic from the gasses in minecraft mod which has the invisible gas blocks float upwards and then that would force players to create a bio dome and the dome would slowly fill up with oxygen until it would be completely full and you could breath like on earth.
Perhaps also a block that when placed creates a glass sphere on the surface making it slightly easier for players to set up a bio dome (Kinda like the forcefield from IC2 addon)
