Just a few ideas.

Say, we have a dangerous planet or moon where it's hard to land, such as Jupiter's Io (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Io_(moon)). You send a probe to find a spot safe to land.

Via communication dish and perhaps artificial satellites, the probe will send pictures back so you can see the surface and implant a beacon. Now you can go in a manned mission and you have to "drive" the rocket toward the beacon or you're dead.

How about an even more dangerous planet where it's impossible for a player to land? Send a rover with a camera, robotic arms and such.

You sit at the remote control station and the camera view switches from the player to the rover, like in MCHeli.

If the rover breaks down, is destroyed or turns off, the camera switches back to the player.
