Crash converting 1.6.4 world to 1.7.10

When loading my 1.6.4 world which had Galacticraft 2.0.12.1010 on it along with some other mods, the game gives me a crash. The gui comes up right before it crashes, but it never shows a block or the hotbar on the bottom. It is just black behind it, then Minecraft dies.

(PasteBin is at full capacity atm... so I will have to put the abnormally long crash as an attatchment here.... Sorry!)

Deleting this world cannot happen as it is in a let's play of mine. If I need to stay on 1.6.4 I will, but only if there is absolutely no fix. I've been waiting for ages to update to 1.7.10.

Do it in two steps:

#1 in Minecraft 1.6.4, update your Galacticraft to the latest, that's 2.0.14.1096
Play for a while in that - probably best to travel once to every dimension, to make sure everything loads up.

#2 now save that world and try converting to 1.7.10

That should fix it, if not you're welcome to ask for more help (though I don't have any other easy answers).

UPDATE: if you have other mods, you might need to make sure also to use the latest 1.6.4 version of those.

Explanation: in Minecraft 1.7.10, everything in the world is saved by block and item name, not ID#. In 1.6.4, it's all still on ID#. Recent versions of 1.6.4 mods - the latest ones made before the authors updated to 1.7.10 - will normally have all blocks and items dual-registered with ID# and name, so that the conversion works smoothly.

I updated my mods to latest 1.6 version and it crashed, but with a different log. I'll post it here:

It could be any one of your 30 mods causing that crash. It's one of those types of crash reports which doesn't say which mod is the cause, it could be any mod which uses network code. Most or all mods use network code.

I think you might have to start taking mods out of your mods folder until it stops crashing.

I was afraid I would have to do that. I use MultiMC with making my modpack, so I'll use it to easily disable and re-enable the mods until I get it to work.

I'll post my results tomorrow as I don't have time to today.

Sorry for late response, but it turns out it can't be converted due to a Biomes O' Plenty chunk generation issue. I copied the map over using MCedit and everything is fine now. Thanks for all of the help!
