Galacticraft won't show up in forge

i have made sure to download the correct version of everything. i have the Galacticraft files:
GalacticraftCore-1.12.2-4.0.1.181
Galacticraft-Planets-1.12.2-4.0.1.181
MicdoodleCore-1.12.2-4.0.1.181
As well as for forge:
forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.2555
But no matter what forge i install and load it will not show up once i load the launcher.

Check the installation guide at the Wiki.
Are you putting the .jar files in the /mods directory? Is there a loader log file you can post to pastebin/hastebin etc. and provide a link to it? should be someplace like %appdata%/roaming/.mincraft/logs or %appdata%/roaming/.mincraft/instances/<modpack name>/logs or /crashlogs

I figured it out. It has to be in the %appdata%/roaming/.mincraft, not the C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft folder. Stupid mistake.
