I've downloaded the lastest files for galacticraft and forge. However, everytime I attempt to load a map to play it, it crashes. Here is the crash report if anyone can help me out.

I've never seen this before. It does not seem to be connected with Galacticraft (there's no mention of Galacticraft in the crash report), I also took a quick look at the vanilla code which is crashing and it doesn't look to be connected with anything Galacticraft is changing.

It looks like the problem may be you have a non-standard render distance set - so maybe try changing your render distance in options.txt before you start the game. options.txt is in your .minecraft folder. Look for this line:
and set it to something a little smaller, see if that fixes it.

If that doesn't fix it, please try uninstalling Galacticraft (so move the three Galacticraft .jar files out of your /mods folder to some other place safe, temporarily) and see if the game launches with only Forge installed.

Let us know how you get on!

Thanks for the help, the issue was with the render distance.
