How do i fuel a buggy?

I cant fuel my buggy on minecraft 1.5.2
Make a place a buggy fueller platform (same shape as spaceship platform) and then place a fueller (facing the right way) and fill it with a bucket of oil (or several) and finally power it and place a buggy on top. I'm not sure if you can craft the platform yet as I did it via creative mode.
