Item Transfer Cable (a way to move items)

A cable that could move items from a machine into a different machine, you get the idea but why?
yes, there is hoppers but they only take the items from the top and can't move upwards without a workaround using droppers that use Redstone and that causes lag.

There's a lot of GC only servers and I'm sure they would love to see this.

I hope it's not hard to implement and if you can't please explain why in the comments.

I think an upside-down hopper would be easier and better. It functions almost like normal (It doesn't "suck" up items) and can draw from above.
