-return to mars
-kill the creature hunting you
-it drops a rare rocket design, not a tier 3 rocket, but I like your idea of this being the way to get a tier 3 rocket, so props on the idea

I think it will be hard to code such a thing actually...
The tier 3 rocket schematic is already in-game as far is i know.

I think it shoud be not just finite, but the thing could be like where it can almost be like your walking AROUNFD it, where after a certain point,you kind of reach back where you started, and the same could go for deimos, and other especially small bodies such as this.
