It would be cool if a mars rover is implemented.

Not just the moon buggy

I have yet to see anything like this buuuut i could be wrong anywho's a remote controlled or even satalite controlled rover would be useful/fun feature to implement and would allow a person to get a kind of head start in exploration on a planet long before you actually arrive. this could work well with that satalite dish suggestion that's been talked about :p

i think it'd be a really cool feature for people who are still at tier one but would like to "explore" mars which would also act as a way for players to plan their journy's. wow you guys have good ideas :p

But yeah rovers and you'd have to include stuff like solar panels whilst making them and you'd need one of the computers to see through it :p

This would acctually work since sending rovers to other celestial objects is a common thing to do before you send an astronaut. This can even allow you to setup a base on another planet before you even get there using a building specialized rover and supplying it with the required materials. There can even be different rover tiers like rockets so the rover you would send to the moon is tier 1 and specially weighted to move around on the moon while mars is tier 2 and so forth with each tier having a special adaption to make working on certain planetary bodies easier.
They can be modular as well so they would always have a use, even when they finish their missions. You just click in it with a wrench and install/uninstall various upgrades and program chips to add or remove certain functions. Say you have a exploration rover you sent to mars and then you finally reach mars yourself, that rover you sent before you just lost it's primary job since you can explore in person now... what could you do to cheer the little guy up? Give him a new job is what, just click him with a wrench and install a different module like an attack module to make the rover have fighting and defense capabilities, this way it can now work or defending you or the main base while you explore or build at the cost of losing it's robotic arm to build with.

Rovers can even be of use in other mods to an extent! Mystcraft is a good example, you never know what you will find in a randomly generated age so it's always a risk to enter since at any moment you can die, lose the link book home you brought with you and be trapped in that age... but if you could send a robotic rover through the portal to scout the area and if possible setup a return point if the land is too dangerous to risk entering in person.
This could even work with other modded dimensions as well which would be cool to see!

Ive been told I have a knack for cooking up some pretty good and fun sounding ideas while keeping balance in mind, it's just very rare anyone acctually attempts to use them and no modding teams really need an idea guy for obvious reasons... so I just travel from mod to mod and post an idea when I get one, if it's added it's added

One more sending some kind of probes or rovers to that planet will give an idea of the weather, mobs and other sort of stuff
