Leftover fuel should be enough to get back to the overworld. Make sure you bring an empty liquid canister though, the fuel is stored in the lander.

Keep in mind you don't have to use the Galacticraft provided by the mod pack, (as long as your in 1.6.2), you can always update your galacticraft manually to get Mars.

So are Tier 1 rockets only round trip? I have to make another one for each subsequent trip?

Can maps be used on the moon?

Since I always top the rocket off, I've never had a problem getting back. Maps ... not sure. Do they?

And the rockets are good for only one round trip?

No when you get to your SS, a box drops with your rocket (with fuel), and launchpad. Those same items are in your lander on mars, and the moon.

Hmm when I came back to overworld I parachuted down but don't remember a box anywhere nearby.

    EDIT:
Ah I see it now. Its stuck in the tree.

Ok the wiki doesn't have a recipe for tin decoration blocks.

Oh and maps do work on the moon. Do I need to be in a mode other than Peaceful to find a moon dungeon?

Yes. In peaceful the boss doesn't spawn. No boss, no boss death, no key.

The difficulty levels only affect mobs and your health. Since the dungeon is a terrain structure, I believe it will be generated along with the terrain, even on peaceful but with no boss.

And how does one make Decorative Tin Blocks? There's nothing in the wiki for it.

    Awesome

    EDIT:
Alright next issue, the two tin decoration blocks and oxygen pipe aren't making sealable o2 pipes.

There are two Tin Decoration Blocks.
    3372:3 Doesn't craft into anything
    3372:4 Crafts into Sealable blocks.

Ok, I used stone block and tin ingot like it shows in the wiki.

    EDIT:
Ok figured it out, the tin ingot needs to go like this:

    0 0 0
    0 S 0
    0 T 0

    For craftable and

    0 0 0 0 0 0
    T S 0 0 S T
    0 0 0 0 0 0

    For non craftable.

I was using 634. Checking with latest version.
In 634 it creates it properly ...
