I don't know if I'd call it a bug, but here is a fix regardless:
1. In-game, make a note of your space station name (mine is always "Space Station 2").
2. Exit the game and go to your ".minecraft" folder.
3. From there, go to the "saves" folder.
4. In there, go to the folder that contains your world (the folder name will likely be the same as your world name).
5. Find the folder that is named "DIM_" followed by your space station name (without spaces... mine is "DIM_SPACESTATION2"). Delete that folder.
6. Restart Minecraft.
Upon traveling to your space station (or upon logging in if you exited in your space station's dimension), the game will regenerate the generic starter station for you.
