Question on power loss over GC wires.

I am having issues with power loss over Galacticraft cable and I am just wanting to know if it is normal or not.

I have 6 advanced solar panels producing 26.8KW. To that I have 4 energy cells connected individually to 4 furnaces. Between them I have 50-60m of heavy aluminium wire.

I was assuming with an excess of 10KW I would be able to use the furnaces and charge the batteries in the day or at least not discharge them much. At the moment I break even energy wise with only 2 furnaces running, or 18KW excess.

Is this normal?

Client log JIC it's needed.

Yes i think its normal the power needs to be imporved. I suggest mekanism or thermal expansion for other power sources ;)

If this is written to be humorous then fine, but if not then ... please don't give replies like this to people on the forum!

The correct answer is that all the power issues have been fixed in the latest builds of Galacticraft (or if not, then we definitely want to know about any remaining issues). @Blaze the Fox, I see in the log you are using Galacticraft 2.0.11.978, can you upgrade to the latest version, which is 1056 at the time of writing: http://ci.micdoodle8.com/job/Galacticraft/1056/

If people want to look humorous they write so that who reads can tell the post is humorous. Otherwise it's just being frivolous or misleading, intentionally or not.

If one wants to help, make sure the post has some redeemable evidence to avoid misleading people.

Sorry about that, FTB usually clears the clients logs on updating. At least it did the last few times.
The log is really for formality, I don't believe there is any errors related to GC in anyway. There should be relevant log info at the end.

I am using GC 1010. I will pop the latest dev on the test server and see how things go. Power seems to be working OK for most builds, but I have noticed that the power meters bounce around randomly. Ever since the update that caused that behaviour GC electricity hasn't been pleasant to work with since.

I have tried 1056. It is a lot better than the recommended. I can finish smelting a stack of items now without draining a battery completely. I do remember being able to smelt all day and night and never run out of power on four advanced solars though.

To test I placed stacks of cobble into four furnaces just as the solars turned around for the morning, the power dropped but came back to full. I was watching the green meters dip then fill back up, and the energy cells stayed around 2.5mJ. Then this happened in the console:

After that the cells started discharging at a steady rate. There's five cells on the network, one was full at the time.

The spacestation as a comparison, from 12 solars, charges 20 batteries and runs 3 oxygen collectors and 2 furnaces in the day and 2 collectors and 5 sealers 20/7. Everything there seems to work OK with the recommended version.

As I mentioned I am not sure if this is a bug, machines and power work OK. Perhaps they were changed to use more.

We understand you were trying to suggest another means for reliable power so his game could be usable, but you have to understand their point. When someone who is using Galacticraft reports an issue with its power system, the ultimate fix shouldn't be to ditch it and use a different mod. The fix should be just that...a fix. Don't replace the system, fix the broken one so it works correctly.
